it all the way through. Exciting music, rooted in the hard bop tradition
without being mired in the past”. All About Jazz - Mark Sullivan (USA)

Michael formed his All Star band with some of Portugal’s finest jazz musicians (Carlos Barretto - contrabass, Carlos Azevedo - piano, Hugo Alves - trumpet, Jeffery Davis - vibraphone, José Menezes - saxophone, Nuno Ferreira - guitar) to continue performing the hard bop he loves. Both their albums, “Once Upon A Time In Portugal” and “Old School /Fresh Jazz”, were not only highly praised by both Portuguese and International jazz critics but were chosen as one of the 10 best National albums (Portugal) of 2016 and 2018 respectively.
