O RONDÓ DA CARPIDEIRA
A B O U T
Portugal is one of the few countries whose borders have been unchanged for hundreds of years. Its ethno-musical tradition has been preserved with a virtue and popular purity that the isolation of hundreds of years has given it.
In the 60's and 70's ethnographic musicologist Michell Giacometti made several collections of this legacy.
Daniel Bernardes, Mário Marques and Gonçalo Tarquínio tried to frame in musical poetry and images some of the moments that register this traditional cultural in the multidisciplinary spectacle 'O Rondó da Carpideira'.
More than entertainment, it is a show that celebrates music by merging tradition and modernity, in an act of pure art and reinvention.
